Hey folks!
Just wanted to remind all those who can and are willing, to tro to campaign for the Latta event. The staff out there has tried for several years to encourage a campaign style event. I understand due to threat of rain it will be enticing to take a wedge. I would also encourage dog tents if you like.
Also, remember the timeline affect...this is March of 1864. That means slouch hats, Richmond Depots, altered color patterns.
REMEMBER: Let's try to be as authentic as possible and go into battle with full gear for this event. That means full accouterments and or packs if you have them. I think we would look great and stand out if we all went into battle like the real men actually would have. They would not have had time to drop packs of blanket rolls after marching miles then going straight into a fight. Plus the added threat of theft of personal property played a roll as well.
See you out there!

Also the possibility of haveing to spend the night on freshly taken ground or the of possibility of being routed would have compelled the men to keep their gear on so as to have it. (blankets were VERY valuable and werent issued in large quantitys by the confed quartermaster dept. sooo when u got urs u kept it for as long as possible). I will bring all the extra blankets, quilts and my coverlet for anyone who wants to campaign or just to wear in the battle to enhance our over all impression.
