Tarheels we are a new unit so lets start of on the right foot. when addressing our Captain , Address him as Captain or Sir . Not hey Ron ,
Good military disapline makes the unit look good , like soldiers. and even at the suttlerss when you meet a officer salute and greet him . after all we are not pirates .

Let me begin by saying, I am imagining a horrific scene at the next event when you all show up and go overboard with this request of the 1st Sergeant. There are many practical jokers in this group.
Many of you spend hours reading Hardees, studying the time period, getting just the right uniform and even polishing or dirtying your equipment. I ask that when military courtesy (or gentlemanly courtesy to women) is required take the 2 seconds it takes to "play the game" and present the impression properly as a soldier would from that time period. This is especially true of other Officers and NCOs even those you may not wish to address properly. An errant phrase or a piece of farb wastes all of your effort.
I am still the 1st Private and I will still roll my sleeves up and wash dishes, fetch water, and gather fire wood when the camp needs it.
This is about looking the part.
