Guys,

I think this topic would be a healthy one to adress with the coming year. We have a foundation to build on as far as a unit goes. there is great potential in many areas. If you have any issues you'd like to discuss relating to the above mentioned topics, please feel free. Or, just to have conversations about certain accoutraments, uniforms, proper attire, wear, gear, or whatever, let it all out here. Looking forward to what you have to say!

Here are two useful articles I found dealing with impressions:

here are a few more...the first one is one of the better ones I have found. however, one of the best things to do to improve your impression is to look at period photos and try to mimic them and also look at other authentic reenactors.

Several of you have mentioned the need to drill.  I agree completely but the issue is one attendance not desire.  We have had 2 Living History style events and attendance was good but it could have been better.  We can not drill effectively with partial attendance.

i agree maybe we should plan a day or weekend as a camp of instruction type thing, or use the winter encampent as such.

at a recent unit meeting I heard that term used....

I had been struggling with the correct term to describe our event at Waxhaw on the 31st.  This morning I put out an email calling it just that a Winter Camp of Instruction.

On that note:

Guys, one thing I hope to work on during the winter camp of instuction is proper drill and also combat realism and a few things we could do to make our scenarios more believeable and realistic. This will help especially at local, smaller events like Waxhaw and Latta.

Also, I'm excited about planning the scenario for the battle!
